Chicago Blackhawks winger Patrick Kane apologized for the shirtless photos that surfaced this week that showed he and his teammates partying in a limo with a small group of fully-clothed women.He took his apology a bit further telling reporters, “it's time for me to grow up.”
Photos of Kane along with teammates John Madden and Kris Versteeg popped up on the internet after a recent swing throughWestern Canada and all three have insisted that the matter has been handled internally and will remain an in-house issue.Now is it me, or is his apology way off? From my point of view, he should be apologizing for the quality of women he appears to be...ahem...partying with, not the actual incident. Christ, man, you’re a professional athlete. Now I’m no beauty pageant judge, but let me throw my two cents in here. In the Kane pic, he girl in the lumberjack shirt isn’t terrible, but the one on the left? Poor form, young man. You DO need to grow up. As for John Madden posing with his arm flexed, two things come to mind. Some sort of curl/pull-up combo to build some muscle as well as a much-needed tan. Good penalty killer, but quite hobbit-like. Back to the Shire, little one. Oh yeah, he's married too. Hee hee!
Lastly, why is the woman seen sitting next to Kris Versteeg (who apparently thinks he is the white Kanye West) dressed like some sort of hotel concierge?
The whole thing baffles me. We all know athletes enjoy the perks of their profession by doing unspeakable acts with women reeking of low self esteem on a regular basis.This is reality, and for all intents and purposes this is fine as long as it's legal and consensual. But why risk public outcry and a tarnished image from all the uptight stiffs out there for three 4 1/2’s that you picked up at the local Karaoke Bar?It just makes no sense.
Additionally, there’s been no comment from the Hawks regarding the rumors that the blond in the Kane pic is indeed Brian Campbell in drag.
